Finders Keepers Market — May 9, 9am–3pm

Come find us at the Finders Keepers Market! Stop by our table, say hello, and help support the cats. It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning and pick up something fun while you're at it. We'd love to see some familiar faces there and who knows, maybe Chloe will be there to say hi.

A Quick Thank You

A big thank you to everyone who participated in our April Skip a Sip fundraiser. Your support means everything to us and to the cats who call this place home. If you didn't get a chance to participate, donations are always welcome and always appreciated!

What's Been Going On

Things have been busy behind the scenes here at Special Little Whiskers! We've been making improvements to how we operate — most of it isn't the kind of thing you see right away, but it all adds up and helps us take better care of the cats in our care.

We're also excited to share that we've opened an eBay store! This is a new way for us to raise funds, and we're looking forward to growing it over time. Every sale goes directly toward the cats.

Donations

We're accepting gently used items that still have some life left in them — nothing fancy, the cats aren't picky! If you have something to donate, reach out and we'll sort out the details. Anything we can't use ourselves gets passed along to other local rescues or dropped at a thrift store, so nothing goes to waste.

Our eBay Store

We recently opened an eBay store as a new way to raise funds! We're looking for cat-themed items to sell — think clothing with cats on it, mugs, teapots, decor, that kind of thing. Cat supplies are also welcome, as those can be listed too. Every sale goes directly toward the cats here at the sanctuary.

If you have something you think we could use, please reach out and we'll figure out the details!

Cat Spotlight: Lucas

Lucas came to us with quite a story. His mother abandoned her litter, leaving his grandmother to step in and nurse all 15 kittens — her own litter plus the abandoned ones — at the same time. We took Lucas in at 7 weeks old, along with his sisters Maggie and Dixie. At that point they were barely eating wet food, so we worked with them until they were eating well — and Lucas never really stopped there. He'll eat just about anything he can get his paws on, pica and overeating included, which keeps him on our watchful eye.

But what really gives him his dog reputation is that he comes when you call his name. Every time. He's a warm soul with the people he knows and has a way of just making you feel good to be around him. Lucas is a permanent resident here at the sanctuary, and honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way. He's found his home and we're happy he's ours.

With love from the cats and the people who take care of them, Special Little Whiskers Sanctuary
